AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS

Award from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development

In 2016, Prof. Dr hab. Barbara Gajda and Prof. Dr hab. Zdzisław Smorąg were honoured with the Award from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for outstanding national achievements of importance to the implementation of progress in agriculture. The achievement consisted in production of piglets following transfer of vitrified oocytes. This attainment is an important contribution to international achievements in this area.

Distinction from the Polish Academy of Sciences

In 2011, Dr hab. Marek Romek (Jagiellonian University), Prof. Dr hab. Barbara Gajda, Dr Ewa Krzysztofowicz-Romek (Jagiellonian University) and Prof. Dr hab. Zdzisław Smorąg received a Distinction from Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for a series of research studies “Lipids in pig oocytes and embryos – new methods for identification and content regulation, and the implications for biotechnology”.

First Award from the Minister of Science and Higher Education

In 2008, Prof. Dr hab. Zdzisław Smorąg was honoured with the prize for outstanding achievements in the economic development.
